City of Lockport Assessor Tracy Farrell has been admitted to membership in the Institute of Assessing Officers and awarded the designation of “Professional Assessor.” The announcement was made by Roger E. Tibbetts, IAO, chairman of the Board of Trustees of the IAO.
To receive this designation, an assessor must qualify by experience, successful completion of a comprehensive written exam, and the individual must subscribe to the code of ethics of the IAO. Members of the IAO have the exclusive right to use the letters “IAO” after their name.
The IAO is a professional society of assessors, chartered by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York and sponsored by the New York State Assessors’ Association. With the addition of Farrell, the IAO has 184 members statewide.
