City Treasurer

The Treasurer serves as the Chief Financial Officer for the City of Lockport. Some of the duties of the office include general municipal accounting, management of accounts receivable, collecting real estate taxes, investing municipal funds and much more.

When writing a check be very careful to make sure, the written amount and the numerical amount match exactly. We have had many checks returned to us from the bank for this reason.

For the convenience of the city residents, we offer the following payment options:

NEWEST ADDITION
• Online – You can now view and pay your bills online on the City website:
WWW.PAYLOCKPORTNY.COM

• Night Depository – Which is located on the South side of City Hall in the front of the building open 24/7. It’s checked every morning (except weekends).

• By US mail – We use the post-mark as the date of payment.
Send the entire bill:
1. To be processed to the proper account
2. To receive a receipt back

• Bill pay – From your checking account; set City of Lockport up as a vendor for EACH of your bills, make sure the ACCOUNT NUMBER is in the profile for EACH bill; making sure it matches what is on your bill and your bank will directly send us the check.
(This is not recommend for any Tax bills)

 • ACH –Which enables the resident to have taxes (City and County), water-sewer and refuse automatically withdrawn from your checking account. The form is available at the bottom of this page.

• In person – Bring entire bill with your payment.

• 2024-2025 City of Lockport School Tax can be paid at the City of Lockport Treasurer’s office, Second Floor, 1 Locks Plaza, Lockport NY 14094. This tax bill can also be paid online at WWW.PAYLOCKPORTNY.COM

PLEASE NOTE:
If you paid your 2024-2025 school bill at M&T or mailed it to the P.O. Box provided on the bill and you have a question about your bill, please contact Lockport School District at 716-478-4803, we are unable to assist with any payments paid to the school.

2025 County Tax Rate:
$5.167555 per thousand
2025 City Tax rate:
$10.421379 per thousand

EFFECTIVE 3-1-2025
The 2025 County tax bills can be paid at the City of Lockport Treasurer’s office, Second Floor, 1 Locks Plaza, Lockport NY 14094. The County tax bill can also be paid online at Paylockportny.com. Online payments will be accepted until June 6, 2025. Taxes remaining unpaid after June 15th will be returned
to Niagara County Treasurer for collection.
