Businesses

The City of Lockport is a great place to do business. Lockport is the seat of Niagara County, with convenient access to major highways and situated near the University at Buffalo’s North Campus and Niagara County Community College. The city hosts visitors year round, with locals and tourists exploring the Lockport Locks and the Erie Canal’s historic Flight of Five, the Niagara Wine Trail, the Lockport Community Market and Cornerstone Ice Arena.

Whether you are looking for retail space on a bustling Main Street or flex space in a more industrial setting, Lockport has something to offer. Storefronts are available in downtown for a range of retail uses, while Harrison Place, a multi-use facility with rental space ranging from 300 square feet to more than 40,000 square feet, is a great location to start or grow your business.

In addition to support at the Niagara County level through the Niagara County Center for Economic Development, the City of Lockport has the Greater Lockport Development Corporation and Lockport Main Street, which apply for and administer grant programs to assist businesses in the City of Lockport. There are a number of programs new or expanding businesses can take advantage of, including Lockport’s Opportunity Zone, microenterprise programs and other initiatives. The City of Lockport is a member of Energize NY, a not-for-profit local development corporation that provides Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing.
