The office handles many of the information requests received from the public, in addition to processing license and permit applications.
The city clerk also keeps records for the city and Common Council, including meeting minutes and updates to the city’s code of laws, when necessary.

The City of Lockport requires that all peddlers operating within city limits apply for and carry a permit. No person shall engage in a business, occupation or activity in the public streets and places and from door to door within the city without first applying for and securing a license.
