City of Lockport Announces The New York State Department of Public Service’s Annual Winter Outreach and Education Campaign

City of Lockport – The City of Lockport has announced that it will support continued outreach for the New York State Department of Public Service’s annual winter outreach and education campaign designed to help consumers manage their energy bills while staying warm and safe during the cold weather months.
The City of Lockport’s Department of Community Development wants residents made aware of steps they can take, and the programs they can participate in, to reduce their energy use and help control energy bills this winter.

This year, in light of COVID-19 pandemic, the New York State Department of Public Service’s has modified their winter campaign to focus on digital platforms. All of the publications related to the upcoming winter season, which include topics such as the rights and protections of electric and natural gas customers and the actions consumers can take to manage their winter energy costs, will be posted on their AskPSC.com website. These publications will be available in digital form for downloading and printing and will be available for order in limited quantities.

The New York State Department of Public Service’s along with The City of Lockport’s Department of Community Development are encouraging consumers to take simple, low-cost energy savings measures to reduce energy use and to consider bill payment options and financial assistance programs to help manage energy costs.
