With extreme cold winter weather forecast to impact the City of Lockport, a Code Blue is planned overnight Friday night, Feb. 7 through Saturday morning, Feb. 8.
The Code Blue Warming Shelter will be open from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. each night during the Code Blue to assist city residents in need. Any homeless person or individual without heat may spend the evening at the Salvation Army facility, located at 50 Cottage St. in Lockport.
Light refreshments, cots and blankets will be offered to guests to ensure they are comfortable and safe during the inclement conditions. Doors to the shelter are locked at 10 p.m. each night, although police may escort individuals to the shelter until midnight.
