Due to the extreme cold temperatures forecasted for Monday, Feb. 18, the City of Lockport Code Blue Warming Shelter is opening once again for city residents in need.
The warming shelter, located at the Salvation Army at 50 Cottage St. in Lockport, will be open from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., and any homeless person or individual without heat may spend the evening at the facility.
The shelter offers light refreshments, cots and blankets to ensure all individuals are comfortable and safe. Doors to the shelter are locked at 10 p.m., although police may escort individuals to the shelter until midnight.
