Due to extreme cold weather in the forecast, the City of Lockport has issued a Code Blue for Tuesday night, Nov. 12 to Nov. 13.
The Code Blue Warming Shelter, located at the Salvation Army at 50 Cottage St. in Lockport, will be open from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. for city residents in need. Any homeless person or individual without heat may spend the evening at the facility.
Doors to the shelter are locked at 10 p.m. each night, although police may escort individuals to the shelter until midnight. The shelter will offer light refreshments, cots and blankets to guests ensure all individuals are comfortable and safe during the inclement conditions.
