Eastern Niagara Hospital has recently notified the City of Lockport of its planned closure of the hospital located on East Avenue. This news is very concerning, as the health and safety of our residents, workers, and visitors is always at the forefront of our minds. Mayor Roman stated, “Upon hearing of the closure, I drafted a letter to Governor Hochul requesting her office to work with us to keep emergency services for our community and surrounding areas consistent until the new hospital is operational.” She also shared, “I have scheduled a meeting for Monday March 20, 2023 with the ENH representatives, Niagara County representatives, as well as the Chiefs of Police and Fire for the City of Lockport.” The City of Lockport will follow-up with more information after this meeting.
