Preservation Buffalo Niagara to Hold Historic Tax Credit Workshop in Lockport

Do you own a historic home listed in the National Register of Historic Places? Then you may have the opportunity to earn a historic tax credit on qualified rehabilitation expenditures.

Join Preservation Buffalo Niagara and the City of Lockport for a free workshop at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 10 at the Lockport Municipal Building for an evening filled with historic tax credit information. At the workshop, attendees can learn about the available homeowner and commercial historic tax credits, including other eligibility criteria, what kinds of work qualifies, and how to submit an application.

Whether you are planning on rehabilitating your primary residence or a commercial property, there are state and federal incentives that may help. Rehabilitation projects that qualify for historic tax credits include but are not limited to interior and exterior painting, system upgrades, roof replacements, masonry repairs, window and door repairs, and floor refinishing.

While this workshop is free and open to the public, space is limited, and pre-registration is requested.

To register or to check whether your property is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, contact Christiana Limniatis, PBN’s director of preservation services, at 716-852-3300 or climniatis@pbnsaves.org. You can also download a flier about the event here.
